I spent some time imaging the Eagle Nebula, aiming to highlight the Pillars of Creation. Because the nebula was low on the horizon, I had only about an hour of usable exposure time. My EQ6 mount struggled to guide the target cleanly, so I discarded more subs than I kept. I shot the image in broadband without filters and initially expected more color. However, the longer I worked with the file, the more I appreciated its subtle palette. Filters might have produced greater color separation, but I think this result is a more natural portrayal of M16—the Eagle Nebula. I hope you enjoy it.
