Sh2-146 is an HII region in Cepheus with an apparent size of about 2 arcminutes. Published distance estimates place it from 15,000 LYs to 17,900 LYs away. The OIII signal was weak but evident in the stacked image. It is located about 35 minutes from Sh2-144 in the night sky, but it is much further away, and while appearing smaller to us, its actual size is twice that of Sh2-144.
